@Frederic My theory was that when houses have a similar colour cap at least one has the symbol to distinguish them. Although Bradley is the odd one out.

In the nineteenth and twentieth century houses used to keep annals and journals about events and daily life. In March 1867 one room (house to be identified) kept an annal all of its own.
